The forest is what is most commonly thought of when someone talks about birds. This is in large part due to the large variety of birds within forests, including hummingbirds, ducks, blue jays, and most raptors. It is because of this that most people believe that the birds here are the least adapted; however, that cannot be further from the truth. The reason why smaller birds thrive in the forest is because of the extremely large number of possible food sources, ranging from trees, bushes, and even other animals like wolves. This allows each one to be specially adapted to one type of food by the shape of their beak. A jay's beak is made for nuts, a chikadee's is made for berries, and a crow's is specially made for any type of food, ranging from berries to even meat.
